IN A NUTSHELL

The African Photographic Society is an international association with the aim of fostering the development and promotion of African photography and photographic practices in Africa.

MOTIVATION

In the past decade we have witnessed a tremendous growth of interest in African photography and photographic practices in Africa which has led on a global level to a multitude of individual and collective initiatives with the aim of supporting and forwarding this development. We believe it is time to unite and coordinate these efforts in order to collectively strengthen the voice of African photography internationally.

GOALS

The African Photographic Society has the goal to:

- create an international network of individuals and collective bodies working towards the common goal of promoting African photography and photographic practices in Africa

- foster coordination, collaboration and exchange among and between the members of the African Photographic Society with regard to common and individual projects and initiatives

- communicate the activities and goals of the African Photographic Society

MEMBERS & Structure

APS is open to legal entities as well as natural entities but only legal entities have the right to vote. Please see article of incorporation for details.

Membership application will be open by Mid February 2016.
